GRANDMA”S HOUSE is more than overnight rental for guests to stay, it is an experience. The house itself was not owned by “grandma” but each part of the house was built from a labor of love and contributed to by each generation of “grandmas” (and Pappy too). When you enter GRANDMA”S HOUSE, you will see bits of nostalgia, feel the warmth of the perfectly acquired furniture pieces from our family collection and enjoy the modern upgrades of the renovations carefully executed to the 100+ year historic home nestled in the heart of Ludlow, KY. We have been so blessed to have GRANDMA’S HOUSE in the family for over 15 years and are excited to share this little piece of treasure with you.

WHO are the “Grandma’s?”

  • Great Grandma Hanks, is the primary contributor to most of the antiques found in GRANDMA”S HOUSE. You can find her wedding picture on the mantle in the family room as you enter the home. She was married to Jack for over 60 years. The toys in the upstairs bedroom were hand made by Jack himself.

  • Grandma Joni, is the resident artist. Grandma Joni not only picked the colors for the house and did most of the interior design but she also provided all of the Art that you see on the walls. Grandma Joni has been an artist for a long time (because we don’t reveal how old she is) and can utilize many mediums and styles of paintings.

  • We can’t forget Pappy! Ole Pappy has been a HUGE part of rehabbing and restoring GRANDMA’S HOUSE to be a beautiful place to enjoy.

WHY GRANDMA”S HOUSE?

Why didn’t we just open a modern place to rent? The rental market is saturated with properties that are beautiful but why book a Short Term Rental that seems impersonal like a hotel when you can stay somewhere that gives you all the feels. We remember what it feels like to visit our Grandma’s house…he excitement of arrival, to the warm hug you receive upon entry, to the feeling you don’t want to go…all of these feelings plus the amenities of the family games, books to loose yourself in, movie room, and family style dining that make the stay at GRANDMA’S HOUSE memorable.

WHAT to do in Ludlow?

Ludlow is an amazing unkept secret. Just outside downtown CIncinnati, you get the convenience of an urban enviornment without the chaos of a big city. Ludlow is safe and family friendly. GRANDMA’S HOUSE sits across the street from a beautiful new public park, skate park, produce market with some of the best ice cream in town and in walking distance to Ludlow Coffee, the Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club and Lagoon. The Historic Downtown area boasts wonderful shops like Allumer (@heyallumer IG) Haters antique store, Bloom Salon, the BEST Barber Shop in Cincinnati and eatery’s like the Second Sights Distillery, Legendary Bufflalo Bar and Ludlow Tavern. HOW do you get around Ludlow?

Walking of course. But seriously, GRANDMA’S HOUSE is conveniently located on the TANK bus line (pick up on Oak St one block up). Also Ride Share is a great option. Typically an Uber costs about $10 to the downtown area. If you would like a personal driver around town, contact David “Big Zig” Zieggler at 859-512-6052.
